I am a creative girlboss, and just like manyyyy (if not all) creative girlbosses, I find it difficult to market and shout out about my business. We creative girls just want to have FUN by digging into the artsy stuff and like to neglect the marketing and self-promoting that comes with having a business. This doesn’t mean we don’t want to market our work, we just want to think about the fun parts, like researching, taking notes, sucking in all the information we can get. We get overwhelmed if we actually need to get out there, open our mouth, network or placing a selfie from time to time on Instagram to show the world who’s the badass maker behind the business.

Last year i made my first efforts to change this habit of #FOGO as i’d like to call it – meaning Fear of Getting Out. From the start of my shop i contacted with some of the most badass Dutch influencers and grabbed out-of-this-world opportunities by the balls. And guess what? It had an immediate effect on the growth of my business AND my confidence.

It’s about not giving a f*ck what other people think

I’m not by far where i’d like to be and still need to work on my #FOGO every.single.day. It still is a hustle, it doesn’t come naturally to me AT ALL. Most people who cross my life may assume i’m an extrovert because i easily connect. However, i associate more with introversion. Being alone energizes me, in both my work and free time. I love to cocoon and am happy being with my own thoughts. This is called (my) comfort zone. I am also that type of girl who kicks herself in her butt every time she notices she’s in her comfort zone, not making any progress.

As i know for sure, there are many introverted creative girl(boss)(e)s out there, who want to rule the world by doing what they love most, but are struggling to be seen. I’d like us to unite in our #FOGO and get into confident mode! That’s why i introduce the #girlsgetknown tag, where we can share our – good, bad and ugly – experiences of getting out there, building self-confidence with every step we take. This is not about becoming famous, it’s about believing in your capabilities to achieve your dream goals in life.

This year I am continuing to push my introvert boundaries by posting weekly videos on Youtube. Every Tuesday i will post a video about the #girlsgetknown challenge, give you tips and updates about my personal progression. Besides following me growing my confidence (and simultaneously this means growing the Sassy Girl) I’d like you to challenge yourself to get YOU out there. This doesn’t necessarily mean starting a Youtube channel as well, but doing something everyday to promote yourself and your brand, product or service. Or maybe you want to start your own business for a long time now, than this is the day to get yourself started!

Tell everyone all about it

What would happen if you would promote yourself and your business for 365 days? Where would you be in one year from now and what would that mean to you?

Ahhh i am very excited to dive into this getting-out-there journey and even more to see you feeling empowered as well to become the girlboss i know you’d like to be.

Let’s grow even more awesome together. xx San
